CLOUDSCAPES Cloudscapes, a permanent public art project in the Jacksonville, Fl. Airport terminal was commissioned by the Jacksonville Airport Authority for the new International Terminal. “Cloudscapes” is a near photographic image of clouds interpreted in small (10mm) Venetian glass mosaic tiles. It is meant to both act as a transition between flying and the airport terminal and offer a restful moment within the airport environment. The relationship between computer pixels and mosaic tiles connects pixels to mosaics and brings new meaning to one of the oldest art making techniques in the world.
