STRUCTURES
I am drawn to the forms and structures of objects that quietly accompany daily life—a bathtub, a sewing machine, pipes, a sink. I often see an architectural presence in these familiar things: the geometry of their construction, the way forms intersect, balance, and occupy space. Through painting, their practical identities begin to recede, becoming arrangements of shape, color, weight, and structure. I am interested in that point where the recognizable begins to move toward abstraction.
